Stockholm Public Libraries invites you to the annual Nordic Libraries Together and the theme is ”Borders and Boundaries”.
On September 3rd we will focus on best Practice and examples from Stockholm Public Libraries (SPL). Participants joining us this day will be able to select two themes, each including visits to Stockholm library locations:
- Library Innovation
Explore the Library Lab in Liljeholmen, experience user experience training methodologies, and learn about SPL’s competence development program. - The Safe Library – Discover SPL’s systematic approach to creating safer libraries through strategic refurbishment, policy development, staff training (including VR scenarios), social worker integration, and authority collaboration.
- Library Programming and Co-creation – Learn about SPL’s policies, methodologies, marketing strategies, risk assessment procedures, and successful programming examples.
- Digital Marketing and Library Programs – Explore SPL’s digital programming platform play.biblioteket.se and learn about their social media engagement and marketing organization.
- Building New Libraries – Understand SPL’s principles for library design and construction, including the ongoing Main Library refurbishment and other projects. Learn how prioritizing children’s needs influences library spaces.
The day concludes with a networking event and panel discussion.
The main conference day will include a day of keynote speeches and panel discussions exploring:
- Internet and boundaries – digital innovation, privacy and disruption
- Libraries and the concept of consequence-neutrality
- Publishing and boundaries
- Authorship and boundaries
- Boundaries for Library programming
The day ends with an evening reception and dinner. The conference will conclude on September 5th with workshops before the conference concludes with lunch.
